The daughter of Marchese Guglielmo Marconi, founder of radio, is set to present a talk titled Father of the Radio.
Princess Elettra Marconi Giovannelli is scheduled to speak 5 p.m. June 29 at Dorothea’s House, 120 John St., Princeton.
Princess Marconi’s father received the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics for his pioneering work in wireless communication.
She is co-author and editor of the memoir Marconi, My Beloved.
Princess Marconi is set to speak about her life, and her eyewitness accounts of her father’s work-including his development of Vatican Radio and his scientific experiments on board his floating laboratory, the yacht Elettra.
The talk is part of Princess Marconi’s 2014 North America tour in honor of her father’s 140th birthday.
A reception and book signing is set to follow the talk.
