Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre is set to present performances of The Secret Garden and The Jungle Book.
The performances are scheduled to take place at Washington Crossing State Park, 355 Washington Crossing Pennington Road, Titusville.
Based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden is a beautiful coming of age story filled with wonderment and surprise.
Mary, an 11-year-old living in British India, is forced from her home by tragedy. She finds herself in Yorkshire, England, on the estate of her reclusive uncle, Archibald Craven. What ensues is a compelling mixture of love, suspense and rebirth in which the raw power of nature gives way to miracle and magic. The stunning musical score and classic story combine to create one of the most powerful theatrical experiences of all time.
The Open Air Theatre cast of The Secret Garden includes several performers seen in productions over the past five seasons at the outdoor venue. Louis Palena plays Archibald Craven. Lauren Kriegel will be seen as Lily Craven. Lauren Brader plays Mrs. Medlock and Jennifer Fischer plays Rose.
The cast is supported by a host of young performers from Lambertville’s Downtown Performing Arts Center.
Performances of The Secret Garden are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. June 20, 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under.
Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids is scheduled to return for a second weekend of performances 11 a.m. June 21 and 4 p.m. June 22.
Join Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie and the gang as they swing their way through madcap adventures and thwart the ferocious tiger, Shere Kahn. This musical, based on the animated film, includes classic Disney tunes like The Bare Necessities and I Wan’na Be Like You.
Tickets are $5 for children or adults.
