In conjunction with its Garden State Watercolor Society Exhibition, D&R Greenway Land Trust is set to host art demonstrations and a gallery talk.
The Garden State Watercolor Society Signature Members’ exhibition Seasonal Splendors” features selected art of 50 members who were encouraged to submit work in a broad range of mediums, in styles ranging from traditional through abstract.
The exhibition is scheduled to run through Aug. 8. All art is for sale, a percentage supporting D&R Greenway’s preservation and stewardship activities in central and southern New Jersey.
GSWS artists are set to create hour-demonstrations in a variety of mediums beginning 10:30 a.m. July 23 in the Evelyne V. Johnson Room on the main floor of the land trust’s Johnson Education Center. Artworks produced during the demonstrations will be contributed by the artists to D&R Greenway Land Trust, to be sold to support their preservation and stewardship of New Jersey open space.
Following the individual teaching sessions, exhibiting artist Charles McVicker is set to lead a Gallery Walk and Talk through the Marie L. Matthews Galleries, to discuss this exhibition’s chosen works. A former docent of the Princeton University Art Museum, McVickers recently received the top award by Manhattan’s Salmagundi Club for painting in casein and acrylic.
The Gallery Walk and Talk is scheduled for 5 p.m. Participants are set to meet in the Evelyne V. Johnson Room.
