Evergreen Forum is accepting registration for the fall semester. Classes include “Woody Allen: Light and Dark,” “Contemporary Business and Economic Issues,” “Lives of Girls and Women: The Fiction of Alice Munro,” “Contemporary Business and Economic Issues,” “Fatal Attractions in Literature,” “Amazing Avian Artists,” “The Jews and the Roman Empire,” “Klezmer Roots,” and “Women, Money, and Power in American Society,” and “Challenges of the Future.” Topics also include Supreme Court, Princeton University architecture, Tin Pan Alley; and James Joyce’s Ulysses.

The Fresh Air Fund seeks host families in Mercer and Middlesex counties. The independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experience to more that 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Children on first-time visits are 6 to 12 years old and stay for one or two weeks. Children who are reinvited by host families may continue with through age 18 and can take extended trips. Call for Singers
VOICES, a 60 plus member choral group, is seeking singers with good reading skills for the next concert season. The three major concerts include “Christmastide” in December, “Irish Heartsong” in March, and Mozart’s Requiem in May.
Altos and basses are especially needed, but singers in all voice parts are encouraged to audition. A few openings in Sotto Voce, the chamber chorus, are also available. Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir has auditions on Sunday, August 24, Monday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 22 Brookside Drive, Millburn. Students selected will have the opportunity to fine tune their craft with free, intensive instruction that includes private voice training at Paper Mill. The season runs from September to June with rehearsals on Sunday evenings. The choir consists of 40 to 50 singer dancers between the ages of 16 and 22.
Prepare an upbeat pop or musical theater piece of approximately 32 bars that best demonstrates your vocal range. Bring sheet music, in the key you will sing it, in a binder or single sheet taped together that contains the full piano accompaniment. An accompanist will be provided. Students may not perform a cappella or to an audio recording. Students will be taught a brief dance combination, so please bring suitable footwear. For Women
The Rutgers University Institute for Women and Art seeks entries for the Momentum: Women/Art/Technology online festival of video works entitled “MTV: Momentum Technology Videos.” The juried works will appear on the IWA’s website in a video playlist that will run continuously, giving access to viewers 24/7. The submission deadline is Friday, September 12.
The IWA also invites participation in the Momentum Directory, a networking gateway linking the public to women and transgender artists and other arts professionals who engage in critical exploration in the field of gender, feminism, art, and technology. Mercer County 4-H invites people to bring creative products, family recipes, homegrown vegetables, and more to the 96th annual Mercer County 4-H Fair. The fair will be Saturday and Sunday, August 2 and 3, at Howell Living History Farm in Hopewell. Family-friendly activities, such as arts and crafts, animal shows and farm tours, with a theme to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, of which 4-H Youth Development is a part. Projects will be received on Friday, August 1, from 3 to 8 p.m.

Main Street Highland Park invites artists, crafters, performers, and vendors to register for its tenth annual Arts in the Park street festival, juried art show, and arts and crafts sale being held Sunday, September 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in downtown Highland Park.
Participants in the juried art show display and sell their work. The show features cash awards for first, second, and third places in seven categories: painting, sculpture, photography, fine crafts, recycled, found), graphics, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media. The American Heart Association is accepting nominations for the Greater Mercer Heart Walk Lifestyle Change Awards through Friday, August 1. The awards recognize people or groups who have made changes that have impacted their quality of life and improved their health.

VSA New Jersey is accepting applications for its Parent/Child Workshops in the Arts for children with autism ages 3 to 21 and their family members. The workshops are offered on Saturdays, October 4 through December 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in New Brunswick. Each 10-week workshop meets for an hour per week. Volunteers from Children’s Organ Transplant Association are raising funds in honor of transplant patients including Alexander Cuevas, 5, of Hamilton. Born with short bowel syndrome, doctors at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh have recommended a life-saving intestinal transplant. Close to $50,000 is needed.
