ACP is offering a 10 percent discount for those who register before 5 p.m. Aug. 1.
Students of all ages and skill levels who are interested in developing their artistic ability, as well as their creative thinking skills, will find a selection of more than 130 courses.
Fall Classes and Workshops for children, teens, and adults in the visual, literary, and performing arts begin as early as mid-September and continue to roll-out through December.
Arts education is at the heart of the ACP’s mission; the organization’s efforts were recognized in 2011 with the NJ State Governor’s Award for Excellence in Arts Education. ACP was also selected in 2013 and 2014 as one of the most popular arts education programs in the state by the Discover Jersey Arts People’s Choice Awards.
Every year, 95 ACP artist-instructors lead thousands of students of all ages and abilities through a year-round calendar of studio-based classes, camps and workshops. In addition to our core offerings in drawing, painting, darkroom photography, digital photography, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, theater, dance, and literary arts for children, teens and adults, ACP continuously develop innovative programs to introduce new artist-instructors and explore a range of varied media.
In addition to our core offerings, ACP is offering new programs for adults and teens. Adults can take a series of printmaking classes, Introductory Black & White Photography, and Watercolor: Focus on Light. Classes geared specifically toward youth include Painting Academy for ages 10-13, Digital Drawing for ages 12-15, and Animation Creations for ages 10-13. Many adult classes are also open to older teens.
New fall classes for children include Mixed Media: Nature and Science in Art for ages eight -10, Meet the Masters for ages seven -10, and Onstage and Backstage for ages five-nine.
In addition to teaching writing classes, instructor Colby Cedar Smith is set to lead a weekend workshop called Writing with the Familiar at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton. For the past 10 years, Cedar Smith has taught creative writing workshops in high schools, art museums, community centers and university classrooms. She is the author of two chapbooks, and her poems have been published in many nationally distributed magazines.
Kathleen Preziosi, who has assisted in the development of children’s programs and taught children’s and adults’ ceramics classes since 1991, is set to run ACP’s independent student and home school teens group. She serves as ACP’s Ceramics Studio Manager
Megan Becker is a freelance illustrator and teaches illustration and digital classes for teens at the ACP. She runs several after-school classes and a new digital mini-camp for ages 11-15 in November over the break.
