Arts Council of Princeton’s Members’ Exhibition is set to be displayed in Septembers.
ACP is set to host an artists’ reception for the annual exhibition 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Paul Robeson Center, 102 Witherspoon St., Princeton. The reception coincides with the organization’s free fall open house.
The exhibition celebrates artwork created by ACP members and their enthusiasm around self-expression and building the arts in our community. This year’s theme is “Creature Comforts?” and ACP members were prompted to explore the complex relationship between humans and the animal world.
This exhibition is scheduled to be on view in the Taplin Gallery Sept. 6 to 30.
In addition to the Members’ Show, work by Gillett Good Griffin, in a show called The Eyes Have It, will be on display in the Solley Theater’s lobby. Gillett’s paintings were inspired by his impressions and studies of places, people and artifacts he came across during his travels to archaeological sites in Central America.
Other exhibitions include outdoor Terrace sculptures by Jim Perry and pieces from the Community Mono-Thon by Kathy Metaxas on display in the Faculty Spotlight Gallery.
ACP, founded in 1967, is a non-profit organization with a mission of building community through the arts. The organization fulfills its mission by presenting a wide range of programs including exhibitions, performances, free community cultural events, and studio-based classes and workshops in a wide range of media.
