The Lawrence Township Growth and Redevelopment Committee, in conjunction with the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce, named the winners in its annual awards.
Economic Development Awards are presented in eight categories to businesses, individuals, and civic groups that have enhanced the community in a special way. Winners had an impact on job growth, expanding the township’s tax base, building or renovating a structure that improves the quality of life in the community, or by participating in local activities that benefit the Township and its residents.
Lawrence Township Education Foundation received the Mayors Award for Economic or Community Development, which is given to a business, civic group, public official or program that deserves special recognition for its efforts on behalf of the community.
The New Large Business Award went to MDAdvantage Insurance Company of New Jersey.
Colonial Valley Chiropractic received the New Small Business Award, which is given to a small employer, family or individual business that makes a special contribution to Lawrence Township.
The committee presented a Business Service Award to Route 1 Diner. The award recognizes a business that has made a significant contribution to the community, which may include a major building or renovation project.
Bellacina Kitchen & Bath is the recipient of the New Building/Renovation Award, which recognizes a significant new building or renovation project that enhances its surrounding neighborhood.
The Podmore/Dwyer Historic Award went to Kathlinda Saretsky. This award celebrates a business, individual or community organization that promotes preservation of Lawrence Township history and has provided an effective educational avenue toward advancing knowledge of the township’s history
Friends of the Lawrence Nature Center received the Ralph Copleman Environmental Award, which recognizes a business, organization, community group, or individual for environmental sustainability.
