The Trenton Education Dance Institute (TEDI) recently celebrated their 26th anniversary at their Second Annual Fall Fundraising Event. Held at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, the event was catered by the area’s top restaurants and featured a wine tasting and live performance by some of TEDI’s talented dancers.
Proceeds from the event will directly benefit TEDI, a program of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey (CHSofNJ). Donors supported the program through ticket purchases, raffle drawings, silent auction purchases and generous donations. Investors Bank purchased a costume sponsorship, which will fund costumes for the upcoming TEDI Event of the Year performance this May. Richard Bilotti, President of TEDI, and his wife Katherine Hatton provided the venue.
“Our TEDI dancers are truly remarkable,” said Pamela Cipriano, CHSofNJ Director of Corporate Development and Volunteerism. Cipriano, who coordinated TEDI’s Fall Fundraiser, continued, “I am honored to plan this event each year for these talented students, and I am so proud of their dedication to the TEDI program and their education, and to their commitment to be positive role models for their peers.”
TEDI is an affiliate of the National Dance Institute, one of the nation’s most prestigious arts-in-education organizations. Both were founded by legendary New York City Ballet dancer Jacques d’Amboise, who believes that dance has the unique ability to engage children and motivate them to excel. The goal of the program is to teach young people critical life skills, such as self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, cooperation and confidence through a distinctive combination of dance, performance and curriculum-based educational materials.
