Linda DeMilt, the chair of High School South’s post prom dress sale, seeks donations of gently used prom, special occasion, mother of the bride, and bridesmaid dresses for the sale on Saturday, February 28, at the school. Dresses may be long or short. Accessories are also requested.
Most gowns will be priced from $20 to $60. A fitting area will be available on site. Alterations are available for an extra charge. All proceeds benefit High School South Post Prom, an alcohol-free safe after prom party for all seniors and their dates.

Students in Eileen Beam’s fifth grade class at Village School helped to make the Thanksgiving holiday a bit brighter for many less fortunate families in Mercer County. Students in grades four, five, and pre-kindergarten, with assistance from parents and staff, donated enough food to fill 39 Thanksgiving baskets and boxes, which were donated to HomeFront.
The project was undertaken as part of Village School’s November character theme of citizenship. Each November students seek out opportunities to be of service and make a difference in the world.
Maurice Hawk Elementary School PTA is celebrating 50 years of academic excellence throughout the academic year. Among several events to highlight the 50th anniversary, the PTA will be hosting an art auction and dinner gala on Friday, March 6, at Mercer Oaks Golf Club.
