Lawrence Township businesses and organizations are set to be on display once again at the township’s 24th annual Community Day, set to be held Sunday, Oct. 6 on the Yeger Drive side of Village Park.
The event is a chance to bring organizations together. Community Day provides residents the opportunity to learn more about Lawrence Township, what is available and just how to take advantage of these services and programs.
Dozens of local businesses, organizations and agencies are set to attend and provide information about their particular program, organization or service. Attendees can expect to see youth sports groups, chiropractors, environmental groups, municipal and county offices, and much more.
Visitors can also stop and get a blood pressure reading or register to vote.
For the kids there will be pony rides, a magic show, games and hayrides.
The Rider Bronc radio station will be on hand for a live broadcast, and the Lawrence High School Red Scare marching band is set to make an appearance
Meanwhile, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Village Park’s Bergen Street parking lot, residents can participate in Shredding and Covered Electronics Disposal Day.
Residents may bring material for shredding, tires (no rims), and covered electronics — including TVs, computers, DVDs, VCRs and more — for disposal.
Material for shredding may not include cardboard or X-rays and may not exceed 100 pounds.
Community Day is set to be held Oct. 6 from 12:30-4 p.m. in Village Park by the Yeger Drive entrance.
