Thirty-six middle school student artists and writers participated in the Princeton Symphony Orchestra’s BRAVO! Listen Up! program Nov. 3.
The Listen Up! program offers students the opportunity to creatively respond to live music performances.
Students at the Nov. 3 concert, called Eternal Light, will respond to composer Aaron Jay Kernis’ cello concerto Colored Field performed by guest soloist Susan Babini.
Participants students include Jake Federico and Camryn Williams from Cambridge School in Pennington; Shubha Vasisht and Nicole Tong from The Hun School in Princeton; Michelle Wang, Helen Shrayer, Noah Deitch, Laura Bussemaker and Margaret Evered from John Witherspoon Middle School in Princeton; Melissa Kolodziej, Emily Dembinski, Nidhi Gurrala, Heeyoung Joe, Cordelia Deng, Upekah Samarasekera and Sujean Gahng from Montgomery Upper Middle School; Stephanie Wang, Bailey Eng, Deena Jahema, Sinjita Bhattacharya and Audrey Ma from Montgomery Lower Middle School: Amelia Wright, Anne Irving, Victoria Shwe, Annie Morgan, Molly Zuckerman and Noah Middlekauff from Princeton Charter School; Maximilian Donaldson, Katharine Lee and Lauren Coppins from Timberlane Middle School in Hopewell; Kate Sarubbi and Aaron Savoy from St. Paul School in Princeton; and Nina Ajemian, Rebekah Ten Hagen, Allie Rounds and Mirai Schmidt from Stuart Country Day School.
The students’ art, poetry and prose is scheduled to be on display Jan. 21 – Feb. 2 at the Arts Council of Princeton.
