Girls’ Winter Track
The North gils captured the Mercer County Tournament team title on January 27 with 103 points. Pati Dziekonska led the way for the Knights, winning the long jump and 55 hurdles in addition to taking second in the 400. Simone Counts earned victories in both the 800 and 1,600. Olivia Harpell was fourth in the long jump and the 200 and third in the 55. Margaux Powell and Rebecca Jin also contributed to the win.
The Pirates earned a second place finish at the meet, ending the day with 71 total points. Paige Brown, Deirdre Casey, Michelle Gao, and Julia Deen all earned points for South in multiple events.
Boys’ Winter Track
The South boys took second place with 68 points at the Mercer County Tournament meet on January 27. Jake Riff, Dan Riff, Eddison Gulama, George Hamilton, Jacob Arbeiter, and Donyell Reid all contributed to the solid finish.
Girls’ Diving
South’s Maria Abiad won the Mercer County championship meet with 217.05 total points on January 29. Her teammate Laura Carandang took second. Mona Agarwal came in ninth. North’s Christina Hayduchok, Danielle Siano, and Hunter Rendleman came in at third, fourth, and seventh, respectively.
Boys’ Diving
North’s David Adlai-Gail took the boys’ title at the Mercer County championship meet on January 29 with 190.2 points. Ryan Angley and Sharath Yalla finished fourth and sixth, respectively. South’s Nathaniel Kaufman finished in second place with 167.35 points.
