For the third year, One Simple Wish is offering free prom dresses to teens in foster care, as well as $10 dresses to the general public.
OSW is set to open The Wish Shop on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 through May 25 in Scotch Road Plaza, 228 Scotch Road, Ewing.
Teens can shop from gently used gowns by designer brands like Vera Wang and BCBG. Many dresses still have the tags attached.
OSW founder and executive director, Danielle Gletow, said she strives to stock The Wish Shop with trendy dresses.
“While we appreciate any donation, we make an effort to stock the shop with the best of the best – gorgeous, in style gowns. We rarely see someone leave without finding a dress,” OSW founder and, said
All dresses are $10 and costume jewelry, clutches, shoes and scarves are $5 and under.
Most Saturdays, teens can enjoy sweet treats like chocolates and pastries while they shop.
Additionally, OSW is seeking volunteers to staff The Wish Shop and hair stylists, make-up artists, crafters, food vendors and others who wish to donate their services to the teen clientele. Dress and costume jewelry donations are set to be accepted at the shop until April 30.
OSW is a nonprofit organization which aims to empower the community to brighten the lives of foster children and vulnerable families through wishes. Donors can browse OSW’s website for a list of wishes that range from $5 to $500.
