Trenton Area Soup Kitchen is set to celebrate its 30th Anniversary with SouperFest, a one-day festival to thank the community for its support.
SouperFest is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 at the Trenton War Memorial, 1 Memorial Drive, Trenton.
Live performances are set to include music from The Ernie White Band, Barbara Trent, Jerry Rife and the Rhythm Kings, The Princeton Girlchoir, the American Boychoir, the Trenton Children’s Chorus, the Union Baptist Church Choir and the Stars and Stripes Patriotic Mummer band.
The Trenton Educational Dance Institute and Egun Omode/ The Garvey School of Trenton are set to perform dance routines.
Additionally there will be sports competitions, magicians, balloon twisters, the PEI Kids on the Block puppet show, crafts, face painting, table games and prizes, among other scheduled entertainment.
Cost of admission is $5 or 5 cans of food for adults. Children under 13 years old are free.
TASK serves a hot lunch Monday through Friday and an evening meal Monday through Thursday from the main Escher Street location. TASK also serves dinner Monday through Thursday at satellite locations in South Trenton, West Trenton, Hightstown and Princeton. Last year, TASK served more than 200,000 meals.
