The Hopewell Harvest Fair Planning Committee is seeking volunteers to help organize the event set for Sept. 28.
Each year, thousands of area residents gather on the grounds of the Hopewell Elementary School for the Hopewell Harvest Fair, a day of entertainment, family fun and community camaraderie.
A majority of proceeds raised at the event are distributed as grants to nonprofit organizations in Hopewell Valley. Last year, nearly $15,000 was distributed.
Community members are invited to share their ideas for the 27th Annual Harvest Fair at planning meetings set for 7 p.m. May 15 and May 29, at the Train Station.
The committee is seeking volunteers for a variety of opportunities ranging from chairing an event to working a two-hour shift on the day of the Fair. Opportunities are available for high school students, church and community groups and community members.
Additionally, the committee needs events coordinators for Country Games, Kid’s Art Contest, Crafters’ Tent and Pumpkin Decorating.
The Country Games event coordinator is responsible for planning and executing old-fashioned games, like sack races and a pie-eating contest.
The Kids’ Art Contest coordinator is responsible for planning the art and Lego contests for children.
The Crafters’ Tent coordinator is responsible for organizing the crafters who sell their wares at the fair.
Lastly, the Pumpkin Decorating coordinator is responsible for creating a contest for children to share their decorated pumpkins.
