Last week’s school board meeting was an emotional one. The board formally appointed David Aderhold to succeed Superintendent Victoria Kniewel, who resigned recently. The board’s vice president, Bob Johnson, celebrated his last board meeting after nine years on the board.
More than 30 people were in the audience. Some of them attended the meeting just to express their appreciation for Dr. Kniewel and Mr. Johnson, and congratulations to Mr. Aderhold.
I want to thank Dr. Kniewel and Mr. Johnson for their great service, and wish them the best. I also congratulate Dr. Aderhold on his appointment and wish him the best. I worked with both superintendents in the past and look forward to working with Dr. Aderhold in the future.
At the second half of the meeting, the board publicly interviewed four West Windsor candidates for the vacancy left by Mr. Johnson. They were Yingchao Zhang, Louisa Ho, Cornell Edmonds, and Rakesh Kak. Of the four candidates, I work closely with one every week, have worked with another, wrote about the third, and read about the fourth.
Board chair Hemant Marathe said “All four candidates were excellent. Any one of them would serve well on the board.” I congratulate whoever got appointed.
WW-P is a great school district. In the recent edition of US News, WW-P High School South ranked eighth in the state. High School North placed 16th. Like all the aforementioned people, I want to serve our district and will try to help to maintain our rankings.
Best wishes to the WW-P school district.
