Eighth graders at Trenton Catholic Academy assembled 150 pajama bags for Christine’s Hope for Kids.
Christine’s Hope is set to donate the bags to local shelters and children in need.
Each bag contained pajamas, small books, toothpaste and hygiene products and a teddy bear wearing the foundation’s logo.
TCA students raised funds for the items through the school’s annual Pajama Day, which allows students and teachers to wear pajamas to school in exchange for a monetary donation.
Christine’s Hope for Kids was established in 2010 by John and Jean Gianacaci of Hopewell Township. In January of that year, their daughter Christine and several of her classmates from Lynn University traveled to Haiti on a mission trip. When a massive earthquake struck on January 12, the Hotel Montana in Port-Au-Prince collapsed and killed Christine, along with three other students and two professors.
The mission of Christine’s Hope for Kids Foundation is to continue her spirit and loving qualities, while helping less fortunate children and supporting local community agencies that work to benefit children.
