Lawrence High School’s top 10 seniors plan to attend college all over the east coast, from Boston College to Duke University in North Carolina.
They have left their mark at LHS through theater and music performances, academic clubs, debate team and homecoming court.
LHS seniors are scheduled to graduate 7 p.m. June 18 at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton.

#1 Irene Connelly
Yale University
GPA: 4.459
Intended career: Author
Future plans: I look forward to meeting new people in college. In 10 years, I see myself as a penniless writer living in an unheated apartment.
Favorite memory: My favorite memory of high school is being a member of stage crew in the theater company and running the lights for many of the shows.
#2 Michael Baicker
Dartmouth College (environmental engineering)
GPA: 4.425
Future plans: I’m looking forward to participating in the Dartmouth Outing Club and hiking and fishing in New England. In 10 years, I hope to either be running a business or teaching.
Favorite memory: My favorite part of high school has been working on the LHS Organic Garden, which I founded with Colin Humphreys.

Intended career: Work for Boeing
Future plans: “Life is not about the destination, but the journey taken to reach.” I am excited for this new journey. In the next 10 years, I see myself being successful, happy and starting a new family of my own.
Favorite memory: My favorite memories were those made every day in Mr. Troy’s AP Physics B class. His Russian accent shall never be forgotten.

Intended career: Advocacy and nonprofit work
Future plans: I’m looking forward to gaining independence and trying to be impactful.
Favorite memory: My favorite memories of high school include my biology and literature classes and a canoe trip I took with some of my friends last summer.

University of Maryland, Baltimore County (Engineering and theatrical design)

Intended career: Theatrical set design
Intended college involvement: Theater club, choir, possibly intramural soccer
Future plans: I am looking forward to being able to explore different fields and experiences that were not available to me in high school. In 10 years, I see myself working at a theater somewhere in the Northeast.
Favorite memory: My favorite high school memory is performing Agnus Dei with Madrigal my sophomore year. Agnus Dei is the hardest piece of music I have ever performed, so it was so rewarding when we finally pulled the piece together. It took us the entire year to prepare the piece, and everyone was so supportive through the entire process. Singing Agnus Dei is one of my proudest accomplishments, and practicing it gave me a tight group of friends who I will never forget.

Rutgers University-New Brunswick (Biomedical engineer)

Intended career: Engineer or doctor/cardiologist
Future plans: I am looking forward to the vast opportunities to network with other students and professionals to advance my career prospects. In the next 10 years, depending on my career path, I can either see myself finishing postgraduate studies in engineering or finishing my residency and beginning work as a doctor.
Favorite memory: My favorite high school memory was this year’s CVC Debate Championships against West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North and being nominated as Best Speaker.
#7 Peter Finnerty

Intended career: Asset management
Intended college involvement: Invited to join the varsity swim team, but still undecided
Future plans: I’m looking forward to living in America’s best college town. In 10 years, ideally, I would have completed an advanced degree and be living in London.
Favorite memory: Breaking the 50-freestyle record on senior night with the encouragement of my family, friends and teammates.
#8 Jeanette Cibelli
Quinnipiac University (communications)
GPA: 4.324
Future plans: I am most looking forward to taking interesting classes in college and meeting new people. In 10 years, I will have some sort of communications career and a cat.
Favorite memory: The best part of high school was being a member of stage crew for the LHS Theater Company, where I met many new friends and ate a lot of snacks.

Intended career: Engineering or engineering consulting
Intended college involvement: Possibly intramural or clubs sports
Future plans: I’m really looking forward to taking my education beyond the classroom through research and internships.
Favorite memory: I am really grateful for the phenomenal teachers I have had throughout the year. They all helped to make me enjoy my four years at high school. I will also fondly remember the three Science Nights I have participated in through STEM Club, starting as a volunteer and later being the organizer. It showed me I can really make a difference in the community.

Intended career: Pediatrician
Intended college involvement: Club field hockey
Future plans: I’m looking forward to traveling as well as meeting new people and making amazing memories. In 10 years, I see myself beginning my career as a pediatrician.
Favorite memory: My favorite memory from high school would be winning homecoming queen this year.
