Members of the Princeton community and surrounding towns ran around the Hun School track at the Princeton Athletic Club’s third annual One-Mile running event June 12.
The event featured four heats to allow participants to run with with others at similar paces.
The top finisher in the first heat was eight-year-old Princeton resident Jeremy Sallade with a time of 7:05.2, followed by Steve Dans in 7:13.7 and Stephanie Weber in 7:21.7.
In the second heat, Princeton resident Jamie Reuland finished first with a time of 6:46.8, followed by Gourin Bhagavathi in 6:55.4 and Euen Ekman-Gunn in 7:05.6.
In the third heat, Princeton resident Clara Blättler finishing first and recorded the fastest female time of the evening with 5:52.9, followed by Rob Borham with 5:57.4 and Rich O’Brien with 6:02.9.
In the final heat, Princeton resident Michael Fonder set a new Princeton Community Mile record with a time of 4:27.0. Chris Sallade finished second in 4:44.1 and Noah Chen third in 5:05.3.
The Princeton Community Mile is the first of two running events presented by the Princeton Athletic Club this June. The All-Comers Track Event is scheduled for June 19 at The Hun School Track. It features 3000m, 100m, 800m and 4×400 relay events.
The Princeton Athletic Club is a nonprofit running club for the Princeton community. The club organizes group runs as well as several running events for the community each year.
