The following letter was sent to West Windsor mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh.
I am sure that by now you are fully aware of how the Grover Farmhouse Committee and my family feel about saving the farmhouse. The Grover Farm was the only farm in West Windsor that allowed thousands of school children to visit and understand just what a “working farm” was all about. The house represents a part of the township’s history that is unparalleled.
Over the past few months, I have heard one long-term township resident state that saving the house is not what LeRoy Grover would want. This resident also stated that we cannot save a house for every veteran. My reply to this is that I knew my father very well. He would want to see the house saved. Also, Thomas, in addition to being a veteran, was a highly decorated war hero. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. While in his final three weeks in Vietnam, he sacrificed his life to save members of his squad who were surrounded and were being overrun by the enemy. Desecrating his boyhood home is morally wrong!
I am hoping that I can count on you to step forward to support saving the house.
