Independence Day celebrations are set to be held throughout Mercer County this year, including fireworks, festivals and concerts.
On June 28-30, Washington Crossing Open Air Theater is set to present “Stars ‘n’ Stripes,” a musical revue at 7:30 p.m. A snack bar will be available, and blankets, seat cushions, a flashlight and insect repellent are recommended. Cost is $15. On the Web: dpacatoat.com.
On Friday, June 29, Mercer County’s Freedom Festival is set to feature food, games, beer and wine gardens, craft vendors, tethered hot air balloon rides, water rides, mechanical bull rides, games and inflatable rides. The festival, held at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, will also for the first time feature a classic car show. Scheduled live music includes Mercer County Symphonic Band at 3 p.m., Bigg Romeo at 5:30, Amish Outlaws at 7:30, and Little Mac and the People’s Champ at 10:15. Fireworks begin at 9:30. On Sunday, June 30, Hopewell Valley Veterans Association will present a concert by the 78th Army Band, featuring military songs and traditional concert pieces, followed by fireworks.
