The twelfth season of Westminster Conservatory’s free noontime concert series is set to begin in September.
The first concert of Westminster Conservatory at Nassau is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. in Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau St., Princeton. Performers include Darryl Yokley on saxophone and Ruisha Zhang on piano. Both are members of the Westminster Conservatory faculty.
Yokley and Zhang’s program features Farewell Song and Aeolian Song by Warren Benson, Prelude Cadence, et Finale by Alfred Desenclos and The Fuzzy Bird Sonata by Takashi Yoshimatsu.
Yokley has an active freelance career in New York City, Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. He has performed with the Four Tops, the Temptations, and the O’Jays. He teaches saxophone, clarinet, and jazz at Westminster Conservatory and also teaches at West Chester University.
Westminster Conservatory at Nassau is a collaborative effort between Nassau Presbyterian Church and Westminster Conservatory. Each season consists of eight recitals performed by members of the Westminster Conservatory faculty. Recitals are 30 to 40 minutes in length and take place on the third Thursday of the month, from September to May — except December.
The next concert is scheduled for 12:15 on Oct. 17. Peformers are Kevin Willois on flute and Kyu-Jung Rhee on piano.
