On April 17 citizens of West Winsor/Plainsboro will have the opportunity to vote for or against the upcoming school budget. Let me tell you why I strongly support the budget and recommend that you do the same:
— Four years in a row spending increases are under percent.
— This spending discipline has resulted in the reduction of total taxes collected for the first time in the history of the school district. This will result in a reduction of $33 for an average home in West Windsor.
— We have the highest student-to-administrator ratio in Mercer County. We are 25 percent above average.
— We have the second highest student-to-teacher ratio in Mercer County.
— Our pupil spending is the secnd lowest in Mercer County.
Having visited many of our schools, I am proud of the student performances in music, theater, Science Olympiad, robotics, art shows, community services, etc. All of this is in addition to the overall outstanding academic student accomplishments.
This year our high schools are ranked Nos. 1 and 3 in the state and our per-pupil cost is $1,250 below the state average. Where else can you get such an outstanding accomplishment at such a cost-effective price? Vote YES for the WW-P School Budget!
