According to a ranking recently released by US News & World Report, High School South ranks as the 14th best high school in the state while North ranks as the 18th best.
Rankings were categorized based on four variables: student-to-teacher ratios, college readiness, and proficiencies in math and English. Both WW-P schools have a student-to-teacher ratio of 14-to-1, ranking fairly high. The state leaders in that category were High Technology High School (Lincroft) at 10-to-1, followed by Academy of Allied Health and Science in Neptune, Bergen County Tech, and Bergen County Academies, all at 11-to-1.
Only nine high schools had a higher proficiency score for math than High School South, and North was just percentage points behind South. Results were similar for English proficiency.
Among competitive local school districts, Princeton High School ranked 10th in the state overall while Montogomery ranked 16th.
