Writing Camp

JW Actor’s Studio, based in Plainsboro, has teamed up with Shadowland Productions to offer an immersive theatrical and writing camp for middle and high school students, from Monday, August 6, to Friday, August 17. The program will be run by Jody Wood, a professional actor for more than 25 years, and Kevin Fox a professional writer who has worked in film and television, and has written graphic novels. They will share the crafts of acting, writing, directing, improvisation — as well as the practical aspects of the business.

The students will create, improvise, write, and act in their own scenes and/or short plays over the course of two weeks. It begins with improvisational and brainstorming exercises to ignite creativity and develop ideas. The creativity will be transformed into written format. At the end of the session each mini troupe will perform a work that they have written and directed.
