Walter S. Ireland, 95, of Fort Fairfield, Maine, died July 2. Survivors include grandson Matthew Ireland and his wife, Malani, of West Windsor. Donations may be made to Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, 2 Prospect Street, Caribou, ME 04736.

Frank J. Prybyla, 86, of Plainsboro died July 16. Survivors include son and daughter, Judith A. Prybyla of Princeton, and Thomas F. Prybyla of Worcester; and one brother, John Prybyla of Northbridge. Born in Northbridge, Massachusetts, he served in the Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Louise M. Ownes, 76, of Robbinsville died July 16. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Bruno and Margaret Maddalon of Princeton Junction. Donations may be made to the Giovannetti Educational Trust Fund, c/o Roma Bank, 500 Route 33, Hamilton 08619.

Emma Shouse, 81, of Frisco, Texas, died July 17. Survivors include a granddaughter, Julia Levy of West Windsor.

James Richard Wendland, 82, of New York City, died July 18. Survivors include a niece and her husband, Judith W. and Kevin J. Nixon of West Windsor. Donations may be made to the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, James R. Wendland Memorial Mission Fund, 6220 Brush Run Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102.

James E. Ventura, 85, of West Windsor died July 19 at University Medical Center at Plainsboro. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he served in the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rose Rostock Ventura; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jules Nemeth; his grandchildren, Pamilla Nemeth, Hope and her husband Brandon Griffiths, and Christian Nemeth; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and Patricia Ventura, Nicholas Ventura and Bridgette Soden.

James Garrison Cortelyou II, 74, of Plainsboro died July 20 at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. A lifelong resident of the area, he served in the Army Reserve, attended the University of New Hampshire, and worked as a plant manager with Union Carbide for 26 years.

Survivors include his brothers, Robert, Peter, and Clifford “Kip” Cortelyou; sister, Jane Casey; his daughter, Laura R. Cortelyou; his son and daughter-in-law, and Bruce J. Jeannine Cortelyou; and grandchildren, Haley and Zachary.

Anne Billington Powell, 88, of East Madison, Maine, died July 21. A longtime resident of Mercerville, she was executive secretary for the State of New Jersey, Human Services, and Medicaid. Survivors include her son, John W. “Jay” Powell of West Windsor. Donations may be made to the Somerset Humane Society, 123 Middle Road, Box 453, Skowhegan, ME 04976.

Edward J. Pollock, 78, of Iselin died July 26. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the 1950s and worked as a helicopter mechanic for the U.S. government in Lakehurst and as a maintenance team instructor at Fort Dix before retiring. Survivors include his brother-in-law, George Labik of Plainsboro.

Nancy Lowe, 95, of Plainsboro died July 29 at the Pavilions at Forrestal Assisted Living in Plainsboro. Born in South River, she was a longtime resident of East Brunswick.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Anthony Genovese of Hamilton, and Patricia and Michael Zelenak of Monmouth Junction; her sister, Mary Facchini of South Carolina; her sister-in-law, Mae Dedovich of North Plainfield; and three grandsons, Anthony Genovese, Matthew and Mark Zelenak. Elizabeth “Betty” Iozziam, 82, of Toms River died July 31. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Barbara A. Iozzia and Ron Watt of West Windsor. Donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 785 Springfield Avenue, Summit 07901.

Margaret Mary Dinkelacker, 74, of Edison died August 2. Survivors include a son, Eric Dinkelacker of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 65 James Street, Edison 08820.

Marilyn E. Petri, 75, of Fairfield, Connecticut, died August 7. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Linda Petri Jr. of West Windsor.
