Michael Herbert, counsel for the West Windsor Mayor, stated at the August 20 West Windsor Council meeting that he alone is preventing Resolution 2012-R189 containing the Transparency in Government Petition, which was unanimously passed at the July 23 Council Meeting and approved by the Mayor, from being placed on the November ballot.
The passed Resolution clearly states in writing that it is to be sent to the County Clerk to be placed on the November General Election ballot. The petition itself states in three places that the more than 500 voters who signed the petition want the petition on the ballot.
Why is Mr. Herbert, an attorney contractor to West Windsor, blocking a duly processed ballot petition? What is he afraid of from voters? Is Mr. Herbert more powerful than the Mayor or Council?
