West Windsor’s Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet on Thursday, September 6, at 7:30 p.m. in room A of the municipal building.
An application to be discussed at the board meeting is for 967 Alexander Road. James and Miho Gallagher, the homeowners, are seeking C-1 and d-4 variances to put in a 1,473 square foot addition to their residence, which is currently 1,108 square feet. Their proposal includes a 1,126 square foot second-story, a 6-foot porch addition, and a 347-square-foot mud room (or Japanese Tatami room) in the back of the home.
Municipal Land Use Manager Sam Surtees says that a few years ago the Gallaghers came in for an application that was opposed by neighbors and ultimately changed by the board’s opinions. He says the current application may also cause a bit of controversy among neighbors due to the size of the project.
Another item for on the zoning board’s agenda is the appointment of one of its members to the township’s Site Plan Advisory Review Board (SPRAB).
The board is set to pass a resolution for the PetSmart store located next to Wal-Mart in Nassau Park. PetSmart is seeking a use variance for the opening of a Banfield animal hospital inside.
Another resolution to be passed is a bulk variance for Irene Toscano, block 27.08, lot 7.
