In West Windsor a 7 p.m. memorial service will be held at the Memorial Twin Ponds at the Ronald R. Rogers Arboretum, at the corner of Route 571 and Clarksville Road. The service will consist of opening remarks, the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, invocation, and a time for quiet reflection. Call 609-799-2400 for details.
#b#Plainsboro Fire Company Car Wash#/b#. To honor the memory of a 9/11 hero, Plainsboro firefighters will hold a car wash on Saturday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the firehouse, 405 Plainsboro Road (at the corner of Prospect Avenue). The event is titled the “Terry Farrell Firefighters’ Fund Car Wash.” Farrell was an FDNY Rescue 4 firefighter who died fighting fires and rescuing people at the World Trade Center on September 11.
The fund provides support to firefighters, their families, and fire departments meet educational, medical, and equipment needs. Last year the car wash plus donations from area businesses raised more than $2,000.
