Two Republicans will be on the November ballot to challenge incumbents Narun Nabi and Deputy Mayor Neil Lewis for seats on Plainsboro’s Township Committee. Krishna Jagannathan, who was defeated by Mayor Peter Cantu in the November, 2011, Plainsboro election, made his way onto this year’s ballot without trying.
“I was elected as a write-in by some of the folks in town in the Republican primary, and I signed the candidate acceptance form in time to make the November ballot,” Jagannathan wrote in an E-mail on September 11.
Jagannathan joins finance professional Marjorie Doyle Lyons (WW-P News, April 13) as the opposition to Nabi and Lewis.
Jagannathan, 27 (turning 28 on November 1), is a resident of the Aspen community and president of its homeowners association. A Rutgers graduate with a degree in ecology and natural resources, he now works at the Edison Job Corps Academy. Jagannathan has also spent part of his career as an EMT.
Jagannathan said recently he has been busy with his responsibilities in town, including a role as secretary of the Plainsboro Fire District, to which he was elected earlier this year (WW-P News, October 21, 2011, and February 17).
The Friday, October 5, edition of the WW-P News will include a forum in which all candidates will have the opportunity to address pertinent issues.
