South (7-1) A 35-24 win over Notre Dame on October 19. Rushing: Brian Schoenauer, 33-268, 5 TDs. South established an early lead, scoring first on a 14-play, 86-yard opening drive that ate up 8:18 of the first quarter. After recovering their own kickoff that followed, the Pirates scored again, bringing their lead to 14-0 before the Irish had a chance to run a play. Notre Dame caught up in the third quarter and trimmed the deficit to 21-18, but South finished the game with two more touchdowns.

Cross Country
The North and South boys and girls teams all competed in the Mercer County Championship meet at Washington Crossing Park on October 26.
The Pirate boys captured their third consecutive Mercer County title. Jake Riff (15:48), Tom Vince (15:51), and Dan Riff (15:52) placed first, second, and third, respectively. Karn Setya (16:37) finished in ninth place. Riff became South’s first individual chamption since Brian Leung in 2007.
The South girls also made a statement, winning their second Mercer County title in three years by an 87-point margin. Julia Deen (19:24), Deirdre Casey (19:43), Edlyn Gulama (19:48), and Christina Rancan (19:59) placed second, fourth, fifth, and eighth, respectively.
The North boys placed third. Eddie Cunningham (16:10), who finished in fourth place, was the sole top-ten finisher for North.
North girls placed fourth. Manoyla Altan was third with a time of 19:33.
