At the Plainsboro Township Committee meeting on Wednesday, February 8, three members of the community were appointed to fill volunteer seats. Mayor Peter Cantu has appointed Kwai Kin Ho (also known as David) to an alternate one-year term on the Plainsboro Human Relations Council, set to expire December 31.
Dr. Narun Nabi, committee liaison to the Human Relations Council, described Kwai as a community activist who has been involved in labor movement in New York.
After the committee passed a resolution changing the membership and terms of the township’s Shade Tree Committee, which had been operating with a lower number of participants, two appointments were announced. Brad Biren. an attorney also involved in architecture, was appointed to fill a three-year term that was vacated, set to expire December 31, 2013. Biren moved to Plainsboro in 2011.
Pooja Patel was also appointed to the Shade Tree Committee to fill a teen seat, which is set to expire December 31 of this year.
While appointments were made in Plainsboro a few volunteer seats remain open in West Windsor.
The West Windsor Affordable Housing Committee has two resident representative vacancies.
Also in West Windsor there is one vacancy for a Shade Tree Commission member and a vacancy for Board of Recreation Commission alternate II member.
