Church & Dwight Employee Giving Fund awarded the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank a grant of $10,000 for their healthy eating programs. The funding will support activities of the Food Bank to channel wholesome and healthy food to children, adults and seniors who face food hardships.
“We are grateful to the employees of Church & Dwight for understanding the connection between poverty, hunger and poor nutrition and supporting our work to improve the well-being of poorly nourished children and adults,” said Food Bank Director Phyllis Stoolmacher.
Each week, the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank channels 50,000 to 60,000 pounds of food and groceries to food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens and meal sites. The food, secured from government sources, food companies, farms, food drives and private donations, helps to feed 25,000 food insecure residents of Mercer County.
