The Plainsboro Fire Company has chosen Mike Ruskuski, an eight-year veteran, as the company’s president for 2011.
Ruskuski, who previously served as the fire company’s equipment officer and a trustee, became a firefighter in 2003. He succeeds Rob Brown, who reached the mandatory term limit of three consecutive years of service as president.
“Rob Brown was an extremely dedicated president and an effective leader,” Ruskuski said. “He made many meaningful contributions to the fire company and its members and to the advancement of firefighting in Plainsboro Township. We’re grateful for his leadership during the past three years.”
Other bench officers for the year are Ron Sost, vice president; Vicky Wagner, secretary; and Bob Corriveau, treasurer.
Chief Doug Vorp began his third year as Plainsboro’s fire chief this month. Fire company line officers for 2011 are Jeff Wagner, deputy chief; Jim Pedley, assistant chief; Brian Wagner, captain; Roy Wagner, first lieutenant; and Tom Healey, second lieutenant.
The fire company trustees, who oversee building maintenance in concert with the Board of Commissioners of Plainsboro Fire District 1, are Jerry Byrnes, Sam Emerick, and Matt Bukowski.
The fire company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010 and responded to 560 calls during the year, including major fires in the Pheasant Hollow and Ravens Crest complexes.
