WW-P (19-6): A win against Denville Post 390, 13-8, on July 19 in the opening round of the District Three Tournament. Ryan Demouth had an infield single. Brendan O’Leary and Joe Jensen had singles. Scott Feryus had a two-run double. Casey Litwack had an RBI single. Ryan McGovern allowed just two hits and struck out seven batters. 2B: Demouth, Ralph Aurora, Feryus. WW-P 15s: A loss to Hightstown, 8-4, on July 11.

A loss to Western Monmouth, 11-10, on July 10. Scott Benerofe had three singles and two RBIs.

A win against Trenton, 26-3, on July 9. Scott Benerofe had three hits and three RBIs.

WW-P 14s: A loss to Nottingham, 6-3, on July 13. Mike Mazzeo hit a single. Sean O’Brien had a two-run single.

A win against Hopewell Valley, 18-1, on July 9. Sean O’Brien drove in two runs. Austin Lindner, Michael Mazzeo, and Robert Armus each had hits.

WW-P 13s: The team will open on Saturday, July 23, against the winner of the Brick American and Hightstown-east Windsor game.

Little League

Cranbury-Plainsboro Little League 12s (2-2). A loss to Robbinsville, 10-5, on July 9.

A loss to Millstone-Roosevelt, 5-0, on July 7 in the District 12 Final 8 tournament.

West Windsor Little League 11s (4-1). A win against Sunnybrae, 11-7, on July 12. Ryan Strype went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs. Strype also hit a grand slam, a double, and scored three runs.

Cranbury-Plainsboro Little League 11s . A loss to HTRBA, 11-1, on July 12.

East Windsor/Cranbury-Plainsboro Softball 12s (3-0) A win against Pequannock, 6-0, on July 16 in the state championship. Angela Giampolo pitched a one-hitter and struck out 9 batters. She scored twice and had an RBI.

Awin against Lincroft, 3-2, in the Section 3 Little League Softball tournament on July 11. Holly Bridgman had two RBI singles. Sam Dolan pitched a six-hitter with four strikeouts.

Sports Briefs

West Windsor resident Anthony Aloi, a South graduate, finished 16th at the New Jersey State Amateur with a 72-hole total of 298. The golf competition was held at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster last month. He followed it up by winning the Metropolitan Golf Association Public Links title at Hominy Hill in Colts Neck on July 6. He finished with a 72-68—140.

North graduate Scott Kelly played in all 37 games for The College of New Jersey men’s baseball team, where he plays second base. He finished with a batting average of .362 and 54 hits. He made the NJAC all-state team and Mid-Atlantic Region third team.

North graduate Lexi Forsell started all 33 games for the Drew University softball team this season, finishing with a batting average of .350. She had 35 hits.

Peddie Aquatics’ swimmers earnedmedals at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club’s Mid-Summer Classic at Meadowbrook Aquatic Center in Baltimore, MD. Patrick Park finished second in the 100 fly (57.42) in the individual open event. In the 13 and 14-year-old individual events, Emily Schroeder of West Windsor placed first in the 100 fly (1:07.11), second in the 200 fly (2:29.71), and third in the 100 free (1:01.19). Schroeder (94), Park (76), West Windsor resident Roman Horoszewski (46), and West Windsor resident Rabia Syed (23) had points in individual events.
