All of West Windsor should be saddened by the Township Council’s continuing capitulation to InterCap Holdings as they recklessly pursue the emerging tragedy of redevelopment around the train station. Do we really need another 800 housing units crammed into a narrow part of the town?
Do we really want another 1,600 cars waiting at intersections around Princeton Junction? Do we really need an explosive increase in condos and school children? It is now obvious that the ideal of redevelopment will not be the reality.
I remember when — not long ago — a suite of Township Council candidates was voted in by the citizens of West Windsor on a platform of “No 1,000 houses.” That promise, and the will of the people, are now apparently long forgotten by current office holders.
This November, three Council members will be elected. It’s time again for the voters to send a message that West Windsor should walk away from this disaster, terminate the redevelopment, and save our town.
