Top producers Gloria and Janice Hutchinson’s real estate connection goes way back. Gloria Hutchinson began her career in real estate a quarter of a century ago when the business of doing real estate required the painstaking manual design and input of property data and the use of real maps to go from place A to place B. In those days inventory data was carried around in big, heavy three ring binders and photos were taken, copied and hand pasted onto property profile sheets. There were no professional appointment desks, faxes, cell phones, GPS, or lockboxes. One had to carry around the appropriate change for phone calls to clients while out on the road and all offers had to be hand delivered to other agents and attorneys. The digital age of e-scans, internet searches and text messaging was in the dream stage.

When Gloria first entered the real estate business, her five children, age 7 years and under, frequently accompanied her on appointments. Her four boys, Rob, Anthony, Tom, Bill and baby sister Janice would often pile into Mom’s navy blue Pontiac Station Wagon as Gloria went out with clients. Gloria brought along snacks for both the kids and her clients. It was a picnic on the road, quite literally. When Gloria wasn’t running around with her clients, she was running to watch the kids in all their various activities. She says, “In those days, you didn’t need caffeine to be stimulated. There was always a whirlwind of activity between work and family that was both energizing, fun, and yes, a little crazy.”

Janice quietly and quickly picked up all her Mom’s charm and real estate wisdom and proudly announced to her First Grade class: “When I grow up, I’m going to be a realtor, just like my Mom.” For a fourth grade class project, Janice put together a beautiul hand-made Property Profile Sheet, complete with all of the information she saw Gloria include for her clients. Janice took pictures of the family’s home in West Windsor and wrote down the many details and descriptions that would wow a buyer, and her teacher. Janice’s project was so good the teacher thought that Janice had help from Gloria, which lead a tearful Janice to say with pride (and a note from her Dad), that it was indeed her own handiwork.

Fast forward to the present and signs of the successful mother-daughter team adorn homes, bought and sold throughout the community. Both Gloria and Janice are very active in many national and community service projects that include Easter Seals, Homefront, and Womanspace, among others. Now it is Janice who has her children, Kyleigh and Carter observing their Mom, helping buyers and sellers with the same warmth and know-how that has been the gold standard of their grandmother. Gloria and Janice Hutchinson are most proud of their loving commitment to family, community and clients. They have had the pleasure of servicing some of the same clients again and again as their clients move through the life cycle, as well as providing their brand of exceptional service to the many referrals they receive from very satisfied customers. Please call Gloria (609-658-4383) or Janice (609-658-4900) for sensational real estate service with (two) smiles.
