Yes, the Mayor (I mean “township”) purchased this Meadow Road at Clarksville Road land using taxpayer money. He is quite skilled at using taxpayer money for his personal agendas such as a mere seven years and counting for a township sign ordinance.
In the meantime, how much of the 27.5 acres is buildable? Practically none. There is no sewer to the site, no water, except what runs through it. In essence? It is worthless EXCEPT for Blue Herons. My guess is American Bald Eagles, Japanese beetles, and the Chinese stink bugs are excluded. If the land has value, why didn’t the township sell a portion of it for the new Korean Community Center? Ah, decisions. And high finance.
Basically, the Mayor got “Mikey the Taxpayer” to eat the land nobody wanted at a price no one else would pay all without the pesky public approval. All the negotiations were done “privately” and quickly with the approval of a Helen Keller Township Council. And the quid pro quo for the Mayor’s possible Democratic Assembly nomination swirling at the time? Pure coincidence. Sacre Bleu!
Where would the quality of life be without Mayor Hsueh? Wait until “On Goldin Pond” is constructed with over 800 dwelling units flooding the township before completing the following sentence:
“We wanted to protect and enhance environmental quality . . . even the birds know where to go.” Now you know why they call it a “rookery.” Because everybody knows more . . . is better.
Meanwhile just down the road, more of the township decays on what was once a pristine, formidable $2 million ratable — American Cyanamid. No blue herons are allowed there, just white elephants.
