WW Arts Council Seeks Asst. Director

West Windsor Arts Council seeks an assistant director/program coordinator in a half-time position. The major responsibility will be to manage a community arts center presenting arts and cultural events, classes, workshops, and exhibits in the new facility; working with volunteer committees to program, market, and promote cultural activities; prepare production budgets; determine technical requirements; troubleshoot tech and house problems; negotiate and finalize contracts with artists; maintain the condition of all equipment; and staff all events with contracted professionals, existing staff, or volunteers.

The summer months include preparing for the grand opening events beginning in September. Background or degree in arts administration or theater management is desirable. Technical knowledge and experience in lighting and sound is important and experience in coordinating arts education programs is highly desirable.

The Arts Council also seeks experienced artists and art teachers who are interested in presenting workshops at the soon-to-be opened building on Alexander Road for weekday and weekend workshops for adults, teens, and children. Stars in the Park has auditions for “Cinderella” on Saturday, June 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kelsey Theater. Parts are still open for chorus dancers, Fairy Godmother’s assistants, children’s chorus, King Darling, and Prince Charming. Prepare 16 bars of a song and be prepared to dance. Bring resume/photo. Mercer County Park Commission now offers bicycle rentals on weekends at Mercer County Park in West Windsor. Call Knapps Cyclery at 609-393-1199. At the marina, kayak rentals are available for $15 per hour; and pontoon boat lake tours are at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. for $6. The docks on the Delaware River are available sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Call 609-989-4947 for information.

Summer Fun

Mercer Masters Princeton National Rowing Association offers three Learn to Row sessions from Monday, June 14 to Friday, August 13. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 5:30 to 7 a.m., $350. Summer Programs

Bridge Academy offers summer programs in social skills for children ages 9 to 14 who have difficult making or keeping friends; have trouble acting appropriately in social situations, school, stores, or parties; or have difficulty initiating, maintaining, or ending a conversation.
