Linda M. Fields of West Windsor has been recognized as a nationally certified teacher of music by Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Fields, certified as a piano teacher with a specialty in early childhood music, is the owner of Musicians in the Making, based in Plainsboro.
Fields graduated with a bachelor’s degree of music in piano cum laude from the University of North Texas in Denton, and earned her master’s degree of music in piano from Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, She received a church music certificate from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where she has done graduate work in organ. Fields currently serves as assistant treasurer of New Jersey Music Teachers Association, and is past president of the Piano Teachers Forum.
Being trained in both Kindermusik and Musikgarten early childhood music curricula, Fields is Level III certified by the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association. She may be the first early childhood music specialist to obtain national certification by MTNA.
Fields is founder and Musikgarten director of Musicians in the Making studio, which offers Musikgarten classes from birth to age seven, and group and private piano instruction from second grade and up in Plainsboro and West Windsor.
