Emergency road work will be affecting drivers through both West Windsor and Plainsboro this week.
In West Windsor, work began overnight on October 8 on Route 1 North between Fisher Place and Harrison Street, where a collapsed drainage system caused pavement failures. The emergency road work will correct the drainage system and the roadway.
Lane closures will occur between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. and began on October 8. The work is scheduled to be complete by Monday, October 11, at 5 a.m., weather permitting.
In Plainsboro, emergency road work to repair the Scudders Mill Road bridge will begin on Scudders Mill Road between College Road East and Schalks Crossing Road between Tuesday, October 12,and Wednesday, October 13, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The road will be closed to all traffic in both directions.
Then, during the day on Wednesday, October 13, the road will be restricted to one lane in each direction from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The posted detour from Scudders Mill Road eastbound is to make a left onto College Road East, right onto Research Way, and right onto Schalks Crossing Road. From Scudders Mill Road westbound, make a right onto Schalks Crossing Road, left onto Research Way, and left onto College Road East.
