On behalf of residents, taxpayers, and visitors to West Windsor, I am surprised in 10-year Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh’s quest and registration of interest in the 14th District Assembly seat.
“With a background in engineering at the state Department of Environmental Protection?”
Look at our Democratic chameleon’s efforts to clean up West Windsor. No other community in the district looks as decrepit as West Windsor under the mayor’s “free money” leadership. Why does this township have $45 million in debt and ever-increasing municipal budgets? No wonder he wants to move on.
As one of the many co-conspirators in facilitating West Windsor’s 1992 change from township committee to mayor-council form of government, there has been anything but transparency and lower-cost, more accountable local government. Wasn’t West Windsor supposed to be non-partisan?
An example of Hsueh’s fiscal genius: why would the mayor spend $51,000 for a part-time mayoral job paying $17,000?
“It’s high time West Windsor got involved at the state level,” he said. “West Windsor has been ignored for too long. We’ve always been a spectator, and I think it’s time we need to be one of the players.” Goodness gracious. Wasn’t the presiding mayor … in charge?
Perhaps Hsueh can ignore the state’s crippling fiscal challenges as well as he has performed his local responsibilities. Charity starts at home but it is time to move on.
