North: Jim Rosa finished first at the Nike Cross Northeast Regional Meet on November 27 with a time of 15:39.7, breaking the former record.

Girls’ Cross Country
South: Caroline Kellner finished 7th, with a time of 18:27.6 at the Foot Locker Northeast Regional on November 27.

Sports Briefs
South graduate Dan Balevski, a freshman on the College of New Jersey’s men’s basketball team, hit four 3-pointers in the team’s loss to Eastern Connecticut State University, 71-68, on November 28.
South graduate Brian Leung, a junior cross country runner at Princeton University, placed first, with a time of 24:32, at the annual Ashenfelter 8K Classic in Glen Ridge on Thanksgiving.Sam Macaluso, also a South graduate, came in second.
West Windsor resident Melissa Kirkendoll, 12, placed second in the 100 breast (1:20.84), fifth in the 200 free (2:18.98), and sixth in the 100 back (1:11.27) in the 11-12 age group at the Somerse Hills YMCA (SHY) Fall Challenge 2010 on November 7.
West Windsor resident Jack McIntyre, 12, placed first in the 100 breast (1:14.84), first in the 200 free (2:05.97), and third in the 100 back (1:09.28).
West Windsor resident Faith Rogers 12, placed second in the 100 back (1:07.63), seventh in the 100 breast (1:24.79), and seventh in the 200 free (2:19.98).
All three swimmers are members of the Eastern Express swim team.
Rebecca Soni, a former Plainsboro resident and Olympic medalist, was named the Female Athlete of the Year during the seventh Annual USA Swimming Foundation Golden Goggle Awards in New York.
Soni took home a total of three awards, winning the Female Athlete of the Year award, the Female Race of the Year for her 200m breaststroke swim at the Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships, and for Relay Performance of the Year. Soni and her teammates took the relay win for their gold-medal performance in the women’s 4x100m medley relay at Pan Pacific Championships. Soni finished Pan Pacs with three gold medals and won two National titles in 2010.
West Windsor resident Amani Saeed won the 400 IM (5:12.97) in the senior age group at the first tournament-style swim meet at Peddie’s new pool on November 21.
In the 13/14 age group, West Windsor resident Rabia Syed won the 200 IM (2:24.22), 100 fly (1:03.58) and 200 free (2:02.34).
Among 7 year olds, West Windsor resident Ashley Agogliati won the 25 fly (26.58). Representing Peddie Aquatics in the 6 & Under age group, West Windsor resident Sara Atilgan won the 25 free (22.72), 25 breast (32.89), and 25 back (29.21).
