Along with many, I have been reading with great interest the articles on the continued development of West Windsor.
There seem to be many complex legal and bureaucratic aspects beyond my ken, and I am grateful that so many of our town leaders remain so dedicated to successfully working through these.
Though the complexities of some points often escape me, the simple pleasures of a well-designed town never leave my mind, and I hope they are not forgotten by our officials as they joust over the details of development.
I think of a mother pushing her carriage to the local shops, junior tagging along on the bicycle that he now rides well enough most of the time. I think of older sister, out on her own, getting back and forth safely to school, the town tennis courts, evening play practice, and the town library.
Finally, in an area where I have some experience, I remind everyone not to forget Dad, who walked to the train before the sun came up this morning and will be walking home again after it sets tonight, often in the rain and the snow, but having, at least, an inviting, broad and safe path, from home to train, well protected from the rush hour traffic.
Regarding how to best proceed on these key aspects of development, we are lucky to have an experienced and hard working group, well versed in the details of road and sidewalk design, in the form of the West Windsor Bicycle and Pedestrian Alliance.
I hope their advice and recommendations will be given the respect they deserve. On these points will depend much of the success or failure of the finished product for all of us.
