Jonathan Shenk of West Windsor recently changed the name of his company from Holy Roller Painting to Greenleaf Painters. He formed the company in January, 2006, drawing on several years of apprenticeship experience with companies in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The name change reflected “our long-time commitment to offering products that are good for you and the environment,” he says.##M:[more]##

According to the company’s website, “Conventional paint contains chemicals that off-gas into the air. These paints release volatile organic compounds, which are a class of carbon-based chemicals that have the capacity to evaporate readily at room temperature. VOCs are responsible for the smells we associate with new paint and cause some people to get headaches.” Green paint refers not to the color, but to paint that contains fewer of these chemicals and heavy metals while still providing very high performance paint qualities. A percentage of each sale benefits the Trentonchapter of Habitat for Humanity. For information visit www.greenleafpainters.com
