The fifth annual Freedom Festival, the first Independence Day celebration in the area, will be held at Mercer County Park in West Windsor on Saturday, June 27. The family-oriented event presents entertainment and activities for all ages including food, beer and wine gardens, crafters, vendors, live music, inflatables, water rides, laser tag, a quoit tournament, games, petting zoo, pony rides, sand art, and airbrush tattoos. Live performances include Princeton School of Rock, Split Decision, the Amish Outlaws, and the Dawgs. The day concludes with a spectacular fireworks display. Admission is free.##M:[more]##
The concert lineup starts at 3 p.m. with Princeton School of Rock, followed by Split Decision at 5 p.m., the Amish Outlaws at 7 p.m., and the Dawgs at 10 p.m. The fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.
The inaugural quoit tournament, featuring a lawn game similar to horseshoes, is presented by Harry’s Army & Navy. Register at Harry’s, 691 Route 130, Robbinsville. The entry fee is $20 per team. The first place team wins $400 and second place wins $250. There is a limit of 32 teams.
Food vendors include Aunt Martha’s Funnel Cakes, Balic Winery, Buzzetta’s Catering, Cranbury Delights, Dolores & Buddy’s BBQ, Four Boys Ice Cream, Gina Foods, Maggie Moo’s, Mercer Oaks Catering, Mojo Gourmet Coffee, Mom’s Food, North Jersey Kettle Corn & Italian Specialties, and Thomas Brown Kettle Corn.
