Pierrot Productions has auditions for “The Producers” at Kelsey Theater on Sunday and Monday, August 30 and 31. Catch a Rising Star launches a comedy school to develop a sense of humor and improve public speaking. The six-week class begins Monday, September 14, 7 to 9 p.m. and culminates in a graduation show where you will perform at Catch’s stage in front of an audience. Howell Farms is accepting applications for parent and child enrollment in its Saturday farmhands program. The program is designed to introduce children to life on the farm while parents volunteer time helping the staff work with visitors to the farm. The fall session runs September 12 to October 24. ArtBox Derby

The Arts Council of Princeton is holding an ArtBox derby on Sunday, September 20, at Greenway Meadows Park. A play on the classic soap box derby, competing cars must rely completely upon gravity to move — no powered vehicles are allowed. The four competition brackets are ages 10-12; 13-15; 16-adult; and family. Prizes for creativity, “greenness,” and speed. Entry form and $20 fee per car competing is due Monday, August 31. Call for Art

Capital Health seeks art from regional artists to promote an environment of health and healing in its new 540,”000 square foot hospital in Hopewell. The hospital will both purchase existing work and identify artists from whom site-specific work will be commissioned. Artwork on all mediums and of any scale will be considered. The Meadows Foundation seeks original works of art including acrylics, oils, watercolor, art glass, pastel, and photography. The theme is “Rural New Jersey.” All entries, not to exceed 18 by 24 inches, must be framed and wired for hanging. Entry fee is $20, $25 for two entries, and $30 for three entries. Price for artwork is not to exceed $300. The organization retains a 30 percent commission on all pieces sold. Deadline is Saturday April 24.
