James E. Wetterling Sr., 81, of Lawrenceville died February 27 at Mercer Medical Center. A longtime West Windsor resident, he was a West Windsor Little League manager for many years, member and past president of the West Windsor Lions Club, and a 50-year member of the American Legion.##M:[more]##
Wetterling was honorably discharged as an electrician’s mate first class after serving in the Navy during World War II. He co-owned Budjes’ TV Service in Hightstown and retired in 1984 from AT&T in Hamilton Square, as a manager, after 35 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lois Mount Wetterling; three sons and daughters-in-law, John, Sr. and Lois of Ewing, Jeffrey and Nancy of Pennington, James, Jr. and Dawn of Las Vegas; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Charles Cullen of Ewing; one sister, Jane Sims of Mount Holly; and grandchildren.
Antoinette M., Schwarz Leventhal, 56 of Freehold, died March 3, at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth C. Schwarz of Plainsboro.
Joseph D. Kopil, 84, of Clark died March 5, in his home. Survivors include a brother, Edward Kopil of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville 08691.
Shih H. Ting, 99, of West Windsor died March 8 at the Elms of Cranbury. Born in China, Ting arrived in Washington, D.C., more than 60 years ago, and then moved to Iselin, where he lived for more than 30 years. A veteran of the National Chinese Air Force, he served for more than 10 years and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. He left the Air Force in 1952.
Ting received his bachelor of science degree from Chiaotung University in China, his doctorate in aeronautic engineering from Turin Polytechnic Institute, Turin, Italy, and earned a master’s degree from the Stevens Institute of Technology. A mechanical engineer for the Worthington Pump Company of Harrison for more than 20 years, he retired 33 years ago.
Survivors include his daughters, Sheryl T. Sung, Mai Ting, and Dora Tai; his son, James Ting; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Nancy Murphy, 75, of Harwichport, Massachusetts died March 9. She was a former West Windsor resident. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or Project Hope in Dorchester, Massachusetts (www.prohope.org).
Harold William “Bill” Hinkson, 61, of Hamilton died March 9 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. Survivors include his mother, Beverly Hinkson of West Windsor. Clarissa Dovie Merritt Jackson, 91, of Plainfield died on March 13 at home. Survivors include a son, Edward “Pete” of Plainsboro. Funeral service on Saturday, March 21, at 10 a.m., at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 450 Highland Avenue, Piscataway. Viewing will be from 8 to 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
Michael V. O’Hare, 73, died March 15 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Eileen O’Hare of Plainsboro.
