From the Office of Charles C. Morgan
PRESS RELEASE
October 15, 2009
The corruption in West Windsor is real and it continues.
This is not about an election that is history. This is about a corrupt Mayor and Councilwoman who are hiding behind the power of the Office of Mayor to prevent the disclosure of an ugly truth – they condoned the release of a draft memorandum from the Chief Financial Officer that is full of fabrications attributed to me. They have refused to allow a meeting to correct those errors.
Mayor Hsueh now has taken it upon himself to interfere with the organization of poll workers for the upcoming November election. He is demanding, for the sake of “appearances,” that the democratically-elected Municipal Chairs discontinue their long-standing practice of giving the poll workers some relief during their 16 hour day by sitting in for them while they go vote, get lunch or attend to other personal business. This is the Mayor who condoned his non-resident son illegally voting in West Windsor at an election a couple of years ago.
An honest, ethical Mayor and Councilwoman would invite me to the table to reach agreement on the text of a revised memo that would be acceptable to all of us. A Mayor and Councilwoman who stood for good government would not engage in a continuing cover-up. Where there is a cover-up, there is something to hide. Where there is something to hide, there is corruption.
I have responded to the Mercer County Prosecutor. A copy is attached. It speaks for itself.
I do not apologize for efforts to address Mayor Hsueh’s and Councilwoman Geevers’ corruption. Mayor Hsueh and Councilwoman Geevers owe me and the community an apology for their having condoned the release of a memo full of fabrications. They owe all of us an apology for their continuing cover-up of the ugly truth.
The ball is in their court. If they will open the doors of Town Hall to the light of day and clean air, we can clear away the corruption and move back toward good government. Their continuing refusal will speak louder than words.
