The Plainsboro Township Committee has honored William Daniels, a former Cubmaster of Pack 168 and Scoutmaster of Troop 168, as well as a former Plainsboro fire commissioner, Army veteran, and Cranbury-Plainsboro Little League coach, who recently died of cancer.
Daniels “worked tirelessly for the enhancement of the quality of life for the youth of Plainsboro Township,” and had “provided a positive influence to hundreds of boys and young men,” stated the proclamation, which was issued during the committee’s October 14 meeting.
Daniels — who lived in Plainsboro for more than 25 years before retiring to Florida and returning to New Jersey in 2006 — also helped develop programs for the Plainsboro Library, including the cardboard canoe race, which will now bear his name.
